My artistic practice exists in the dynamic space between two distinct mediums: painting and the classic cyanotype (blueprint). Each medium possesses its own language, rhythm, and unique way of capturing the world.
Painting: Acrylic & Oil
Painting gives me a direct, physical connection to the canvas. I work with both acrylic and oil, which each offer unique expressive possibilities:
Acrylics allow for a fast, spontaneous, and layered approach where ideas emerge and evolve in the moment.
Oils offer depth, patience, and a luminous softness in transitions that invites contemplation and refined technical control.
Painting is the space where I can bridge classical, realistic craftsmanship with free, abstract exploration.
Cyanotype: Sunlight as Co-Creator
While painting is created with brush and color, cyanotype is a direct interaction with the elements of nature. Using a historic photographic technique from the 1840s and the sun's UV light, images are developed in deep Prussian blue tones.
The process demands both precision and surrender to the light and weather of the moment. Through cyanotype, I explore the relationship between humanity and nature—creating artwork in partnership with the sun, where subject and natural elements merge.
